Ames Cyclone Aquatics Club

Small Organization

Our mission is to provide a healthy, rewarding experience for young athletes, where pursuit of goals and dreams leads to success in swimming and in life. We strive to benefit our community by developing leaders who are hardworking, responsible citizens. Our swimmers are respected models embodying integrity, teamwork and friendship gained through commitment to excellence.

Non-Profit Description

We are a multiple-level age group swimming program. There are about 220 members in our organization which serves youth ages 5-18 in a six county region in Central Iowa. We reach children and families across a broad range of socio-economic background. Our focus is to improve swimming skills in the children we work with.

Communities Served

We are based in Story county, but also serve some individuals from Webster, Marshall, and Hardin counties.

Why we deserve the makeover

Our organization has grown over the last 5-8 years by nearly 200% and our service area has also expanded with a new site in Fort Dodge during that time. During this period of rapid growth, we have struggled as an organization to keep up from an administrative and technological standpoint as our primary focus has been to serve the individual needs of our members. We have slowly been able to add some staff to help in this manner, but the addition of some updated office equipment and products will go quite far to improve the speed and quality of our administrative needs.

Our hope is to be able to add some needed office space over the next 12-18 months. When this comes to fruition, there will be the added expense of providing the office products necessary to help or administrative staff take care of the necessary work with quality and in timely manner. We are excited for this opportunity from Premier and hope the be fortunate enough to be the contest winner in our category.
