Premier Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest announces 10 finalists aspiring to win office equipment prizes
Second round of voting to select winning organizations begins today on www.premier-iowa.com
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Sept. 27, 2019) – Ten Central Iowa area non-profit organizations have been named finalists in Premier’s Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest. Each organization is in the running to receive a portion of $60,000 in office technology prizes. A first round of online voting narrowed the group from 48 entrants. A second round of online voting will determine the four winners – two per category.
“We have ten incredible finalists,” said Don Phillips, president of Premier. “It was great to see the public’s enthusiasm for the 48 contestants, and we’re appreciative of all those non-profits. This round of voting is really exciting because it determines the four finalists who will receive the office technology prizes.”
The second round of online voting begins today and closes at 5 p.m. on Oct. 3. Those votes will determine which of the 10 non-profit finalists will be awarded office technology makeovers and equipment packages designed to make the non-profits run better and enhance their ability to focus on their mission.
The 10 finalists, which consist of five “large” non-profits and five “small” non-profits, will now again rely on the public’s votes to win the makeover.
After nearly 8,000 votes cast during the first round of online voting, the 10 finalists are:
Large non-profit finalists
- Ape Cognition and Conservation Initiative (ACCI)
- CIRSI (Central Iowa Residential Services, Inc.)
- Community Health Centers of Southern Iowa, Inc
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa
Small non-profit finalists
- ACTORS (Ames Community Theater)
- Ames Cyclone Aquatics Club
- Living Faith United Methodist Church
- Slater Area Historical Association
- Wayne County Historical Society/Prairie Trails Museum
The first-prize winner in the “large” non-profit category will receive an office technology makeover valued at up to $30,000, and the second-prize winner will receive an equipment package valued at up to $10,000. The first-prize winner in the “small” non-profit category will receive an office technology makeover valued at up to $15,000. The second-prize winner for the “small” non-profit category will receive an equipment package valued at up to $5,000.
The winner of the Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest will be announced Oct. 10.
