Premier launches 14th annual Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest in Central Iowa

2019 program will award $60,000 in total prizes to help non-profits with office technology makeovers and equipment

MARSHALLTOWN, IA. (Aug. 20, 2019) – Premier, a leading provider of copiers, printers, IT services, and managed print services, invites Central Iowa non-profits to enter the Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest for a chance to win a portion of $60,000 in office technology prizes.

The contest – now in its 14th year – is designed to ease the challenges of operating a non-profit organization and give groups the opportunity to focus more exclusively on their mission and the people they serve.

“It’s harder than ever for non-profit organizations to find the money in their budget to purchase, install and manage office technology,” Don Phillips, president of Premier and RK Dixon, said. “We created this contest 14 years ago as a way to acknowledge and thank non-profits for the hard work they do in providing charitable services to our communities. Every year, online community voting has helped us choose the winners.”

This year’s contest focuses exclusively on Central Iowa. Non-profit organizations in Black Hawk, Clarke, Dallas, Davis, Decatur, Grundy, Hardin, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Polk, Poweshiek, Story, Tama, Union, Wapello, Warren, Wayne, and Webster counties are eligible to participate in the contest. Entrants will be categorized as either a “large” or “small” non-profit, based on annual revenue, to help create a more level playing ground among all the registered groups.

At stake are office technology makeovers and equipment packages that are designed to make the non-profits run better and – as a result – enhance their ability to focus on their mission.

The first-prize winner in the “large” non-profit category will receive an office technology makeover valued at up to $30,000. The second-prize winner will receive an equipment package valued at up to $10,000. The first-prize winner in the “small” non-profit category will receive an office technology makeover valued at up to $15,000. The second-prize winner will receive an equipment package valued at up to $5,000.

The office technology makeover prizes may include, but are not limited to: a black-and-white copier, a color copier, a printer, multifunction systems, and IT services.

Registration for the contest opens Aug. 20 and closes at 5 p.m. on Sept. 12. Information regarding registration can be found at Premier-Iowa.com. Round one voting begins on Sept. 13 when the public will be invited to vote online for the non-profit with the biggest need for an office technology makeover.

Last year’s Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest awarded Hand-in-Hand of Bettendorf, Iowa, a $30,000 office technology makeover and New Kingdom Trailriders of Sherrard, Ill., a $15,000 makeover. River Music Experience of Davenport, Iowa, was named the second-prize winner in the large category and Quad Cities Missing Persons Network of Rock Island, Ill. was named the second-prize winner in the small category.

Premier is partnering with KIX 101.1 for this year’s Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest.
