48 non-profits compete in 14th annual Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest for a chance to win a portion of $60,000 in total prizes

Public voting to determine finalists begins today at www.premier-iowa.com

MARSHALLTOWN, IOWA (Sept. 13, 2019) – A total of 48 Central Iowa area non-profits have entered the 14th annual Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest for a chance to win a portion of $60,000 in office technology prizes from Premier.

Public voting, which begins today, will narrow participants to five finalists in each of the “large” and “small” non-profit categories, moving them one step closer to office technology makeovers and equipment packages that are designed to make the non-profits run better and – as a result – enhance their ability to focus on their mission.

“It’s thrilling to see this many area non-profits enter the contest. We wish we could give them all office technology makeovers, but we hope with the public voting going on now that locals can learn more about the incredible work each of these organizations do and give back,” said Don Phillips, president of Premier and RK Dixon. “Now it’s time for the public to decide which of these deserving non-profits will receive the office technology makeovers, and we encourage them to vote every day.”

The first round of online voting will end on Sept. 19 at 5 p.m. The public may vote once per day per email address for one small non-profit and one large non-profit at www.premier-iowa.com; 29 non-profits have registered in the large category, and 19 have registered in the small category.

The contest – now in its 14th year – is designed to ease the challenges of operating a non-profit organization and give groups the opportunity to focus more exclusively on their mission and the people they serve.

The first-prize winner in the “large” non-profit category will receive an office technology makeover valued at up to $30,000. The second-prize winner will receive an equipment package valued at up to $10,000. The first-prize winner in the “small” non-profit category will receive an office technology makeover valued at up to $15,000. The second-prize winner will receive an equipment package valued at up to $5,000.

The second and final round of voting will begin Sept. 27 and will narrow down the top five finalists in each category to the winning organizations. The winners of the Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest are scheduled to be announced Oct. 10.
